Week 12 keene

I learned a lot while attending this class for this week of school. One thing that I had not known about was the differences between the different types of viruses that your computer may get. I knew of a couple like a typical virus and worms, but I did not know there were other ones like trojan horses. More reason to make sure that your pc is well protected.
I had an enjoyable time while taking this class. There was so much more information about how computers work that I simply had no idea about.

Week 11 keene

I learned many things through this 11th week of school while attending this computer class. This week, we mainly talked about printers. Did you know that fuser rollers get up to about 401 degrees Fahrenheit, but a toner doesn’t need much heat to melt. There is also a gallon of oil that is used to make one printer cartridge. From what I have gathered is that the main downsides to a printer would be simply how much energy / materials it takes to operate such a piece of mechanical hardware. But like all pieces of technology, they are constantly being improved.

Week 10 keene

I have learned to quit a lot through this 10th week of school while attending bellevue University. One thing that I learned while attending this class was a lot more information about androids and just mobile operating systems in general. Did you know that the first phone to ship with an Android operating system was the HTC dream. This phone came out back on October 22 2008. That’s a relatively short amount of time in which the Android operating system has been around. I mean, we are only talking about 15 years that the android operating system has been used.

Week 8 keene

I have learned many things over this 8th week of school while attending this computer class. One thing that I had learned that I had found especially interesting is what an ipv6 even is. Apparently, an ipv6 was based on the ipv4 internet protocol. The point of ipv6 is to identify local endpoint systems on a computer network. The ipv6 protocol also helps keep the ipv4 protocol in check by working to solve the problems that have come from an ipv4 protocol. It is interesting, though, because ipv6 was introduced in December 1995. Makes you wonder how much better the next one might be.

Week 7 keene

I have learned many things over this 7th week of school while attending this computer class. One thing that I had found to be very interesting was the differences between a system lock up and a blue screen of death. There are a lot of people who think that a system lock up and a blue screen of death are the same thing. They ate not. A blue screen of death is a screen (usually in blue, hence the name) is when the system runs into a fatal error and has to stop. A system lockup is when a computer does not respond to any and all actions of the user, but the machine still works.

Week 6 keene

I have learned many things over this 6th week of school while attending this class. One thing that I learned while attending this class over this 6th week of school is what an NTF is. Apparently, an NTF is according to google a new technology file system. This new technology file system allows users of windows nt operating systems to store and retrieve files from soldi state drives and hard disk drives. This file system is similar to the Windows 95 allocation table or FAT as it was called and similar to the os/2 performance file system or HPFS

Week 5

I really learned a lot over this 5th week of school. One thing I found was how many issues can occur when installing a new OS. I new that there might be issues that can occur like anything to do with computers however I thought that these issues would be limited when it comes to the operating system since there is no operating system on the computer. The only issue that I have ever come across was a failed partition error. In my case, my hard drives were not set up properly, and the operating system needed its own partition to work.

Week 4 keene

I learned a lot over this 4th week of school. One thing that I had found really interesting during this 4th week of school was what the actual term ghost in the machine in terms of programming means. I heard my dad mention it a few times whenever he was working with his team at work, but I never fully understood what it meant until now. Apparently, it is a term that is used when a computer program is acting in a way other than the intended purpose of that machine. Like a ghost has taken possession of the computer program.

Week 3 blog post

I learned a few things through this class during the 3rd week at Bellevue University. Did you know that AMD stands for Advanced Micro Devices? I sure did not know that. One thing that I also did not know about amd is that they made a device called an accelerated process unit or approach. This process can take the part as a central processing unit and a graphics processing unit. There are problems that people pointed out with this, like having everything on one instead of spread out can lead to some problems, especially with power consumption.
